Sometimes you're the hammer … and sometimes you're the nail.

This weekend, we were the nail.

Struggled to get a clean qualifying lap in and had to start the weekend from 20th position. Just 3 tenths of a second covered positions 5 through 22 in qualifying, and with of 34 drivers on the grid, recovering from a poor qualifying was always going to be tough, especially in a quality field.

We kept moving forward in the heats and managed to start of position 14 for the final.

Had a solid start in the final and quickly picked up 4 places to be running in 10th with a great opportunity to pick off a few more.

Unfortunately, my day ended with 5 laps to go when hit from behind by a driver attempting a move that was never really on.

An expensive repair bill and plenty of time ahead in the back shed with dad fixing the damaged radiator, snapped radiator mounts, split radiator hoses, bent steering column, bent tie rods, bent axle and snapped nose cone mounts, and whatever else we find! lol

It wasn't all bad though, with plenty of positives to take away from the weekend. At least we now know that we are not too far away and have the pace to run toward the front end of the field.
