AKC - Round 2
A bittersweet weekend for Angus in Perth for Round 2 of the Australian Kart Championship.
The weekend proved to be a massive step forward for Angus on what was a very demanding Wanneroo Circuit, with his driving moving up to a new level.
It’s been a tough initiation and 2023 was always meant to be a year of learning, racing in the toughest category, against the best in the country, but he has settled in well and is definitely turning the corner!
We finished the weekend in position 43 out of 77, not bad for a 15 year old! We missed the final by just 1 place. It was a nervous 90 minute wait while the officials added up the points to confirm who would progress through to the final. We all had our fingers crossed that we would scrape in, but we just missed out.
Unfortunately an incorrect Drop Down penalty applied after Race 1 came back to bite us.
We keep our heads up, and we look forward to the next AKC round in Newcastle, a home round for us. We go there with more confidence and higher expectations.
Angus is definitely on an upward trajectory and our aim is to have him solidly into the final for the next round, and then he will never look back.
Thank you to all our fantastic sponsors and supporters, we can’t do this without you and it won’t be long before we are running towards the front.
