CDKC Round 4
A cold, wet and windy day in Lithgow yesterday, with a top temp of just 6° it was going to be tough.
The variable conditions made it difficult for the pit crews, with plenty of sky gazing, radar watching, and gambling on slicks or wets at the last possible moment.
In the end, we only got one run on the slicks in Heat 2. Even though the track was still wet, a dry line was appearing, and the gamble nearly paid off as we chased down the wet tyre runners to grab second place, just one more lap would have been nice.
We were able to adapt to the wet conditions and continued to tweak the setup throughout the day, and by the final we had it perfect.
Nice to get the overall win, especially given the testing conditions.
Thanks Combined Districts Kart Club for putting on another well run event. Terrific to see so many competitors!
See you all in Dubbo in 2 weeks' time for the Australasian Gold Cup.
